A post-doctoral position studying plant signaling is available in the Department of Biology at UNC Chapel Hill.
Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral (Research Associate) position available in plant signaling at the University of North Carolina in the laboratory of Dr. Joe Kieber. Our lab studies phytohormone signaling pathways using the Arabidopsis and rice as model systems.
We are
looking for self-motivated individuals to wo
rk on one of several projects, including cytokinin
signaling and function in rice using molecular and genomic approaches and a project aimed at
dissecting a signaling pathway regulating cellulose biosynthesis in Arabidopsis. We utilize
interdisciplinary approaches to these problems, including genetic, molecular, and genomic
methodology.
Our lab is embedded in a diverse Biology department, which includes multiple labs working in plant biology. Candidates must have a PhD in genetics, molecular biology, plant biology, or related fields and demonstrated experience with molecular and genetic approaches, preferably in plants. Previous experience with Arabidopsis and plant biochemistry or genomic approaches would be ideal.
This project will be performed in the Department of Biology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the new state-of-the-art Genome Sciences Building. Chapel Hill is a pleasant college town located near Research Triangle Park, home to many biotechnology companies, including multiple companies focusing on research in plant biotechnology, and to Duke and NC State Universities.
To apply, provide a curriculum vitae, including the contact information of three professional references, and a cover letter describing your previous experience and why you are interested in joining our lab. To apply for this position please use the following link:
